I recently wrote about what it's been like to move to Chicago and in that post mentioned that the plan was for this to be a more permanent home for me, and that's truly what I intended for it to be! However, life is really dang good at throwing us curveballs and this particular curveball ball is a pitch I couldn't resist swinging at. As I've mentioned before, I am a nanny and the family I nanny for is from Australia. They somewhat unexpectedly are moving back to their homeland next month and I'll be going with them! While I've always known I want to see the world, Australia has always perpetually seemed like a place I would dream of seeing, but maybe never actually get to. I'm not sure yet how long I'll be staying, but I have a one year visa and we're kicking off the journey by spending a few weeks in Scotland first!

Friends and family have asked me if I'm nervous at all to go live in a country I've never been to before, but I'm really not nervous at all. I feel safe traveling there with the family that I've grown close to in the past year and I've always been one to happily invite change into my life. The hardest part so far is packing up and leaving my apartment in Chicago which I've loved so much. It's also interesting to pack things away that are staying in the US and know that next time I see them it will be through entirely different eyes. I experienced this the first time I came home from Florida and looked around at some of my old belongings feeling really distant from them. Overall, I am getting excited and still can't believe I'm going to see two new countries within this next month! I can't wait to take you all on this journey with me!

Stay tuned for more - xo
