Birthday Dress

As some of you may know, my birthday is coming up on Saturday! I'm the kind of person who gets overly excited for birthdays because I'll take any excuse to go do something fun with friends (while wearing something new & unique ;)). I had been eyeing up this dress on Anthro's site for days, refreshing my browser hoping for a sale (now it's down to just $60)! A cocoon dress like this has been on my radar for a while and this one is totally my colors. I think Dan picked up on my obsession with it and offered to buy it for me for my birthday…he's a keeper ♥

So of course I wore it the day it arrived which also happened to be a day that I met up with Kim (my friend + photographer) to check out her new #GIRLBOSS condo and grab lunch. We snapped some pics outside of the restaurant and then head over to a little river where it began to rain. Every fashion girl keeps rainboots in her car like I do right? Maybe that's just a Wisconsin thing since the weather can never make up it's mind here! Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with how cute the boots looked with the dress as well :)
