Milwaukee | Potawatomi Hotel & Casino
A few weeks ago I made a trip home to Milwaukee, primarily for my birthday weekend, but also because I couldn't bear the thought of missing an entire MKE summer. I knew I wanted to stay downtown this time around to be near all of the summertime action and Miller Park where I attended the Kenny Chesney concert (as the best birthday present I could possibly ask for). I was lucky enough to get set up at the new Potawatomi Hotel for a few nights which was conveniently located near many of the hot spots I met up with friends :) The entire interior of the hotel was sleek and modern and the staff was incredibly welcoming. If you ever get a chance to stop in (the hotel or casino) definitely make a pit stop at their sushi bar, RuYi. I don't know for a fact, but I can say with confidence that this might be the freshest sushi you'll get in Milwaukee! They serve all types of fish that were in the ocean just a day or two prior!
BREAKFAST/BRUNCH HOT SPOTS:
Engine Company No. 3 | Kickapoo | Brunch | Wolf Peach
When I first moved to Naples, I told a lot of people that my ideal city would be if I could pick up Milwaukee and place it somewhere in the south. I've had a few months to think about that now and can't say I agree with my former self anymore. What I love so much about Milwaukee in the summertime is the energy and the smiles on everyone's faces thanks to the warm weather they've awaited all year. I love that every single ounce of summertime is soaked up by all. Not a day of sunshine is taken for granted in the north and I think that's pretty cool. Milwaukee, you can stay put right where you are!
