Katelyn Now has been around for about 5 months now. I realized this a few days ago and began reflecting on everything that has happened since I started blogging. I think it is important every once in a while to consider where you started and where you are now, what has changed, what you've learned, what you regret since a certain time in your life. I also wanted to share with my readers some of the things I've never explained about my blog before, for example, my blog's name.
When I had the idea to begin a blog I wanted it to only be a fashion blog. Only outfit posts and nothing else. I drifted away from that idea not because I thought it would be boring, but more unrealistic. Truly I have a passion for many things other than style and I knew I would want to share some inspiration, crafts, and exciting experiences as well. So I decided on Katelyn Now. I get to share things on this site that are my current inspirations, goals, thoughts, or hobbies. If in a year from now I suddenly become super psyched about basket-weaving…hey I won't even have to change my blog's name :)
I'm amazed at some of the opportunities that I've gotten in such a short time. Through this blog I've met a few seriously inspiring people and friends, some in the real world others in the bloggy world. I've gained a passion for photography, pretty things, and simplicity that I never knew existed before. Because of this I've become more supportive of other people's goals and passions, whatever they may be.
Of course there are also downfalls in every aspect of life too. Blogging has made me spend more time on the internet than I used to. It is time consuming, kind of like a part time job without the pay. It sometimes leads to anxieties about having a post be 'perfect' or having enough time/inspiration to take pictures or write.
Overall, I have fallen in love with being a blogger. I've found something I can do when I'm feeling happy, sad, inspired, or angry. Whatever emotion is consuming me at the end of the day I have my blog to use to express myself. Needless to say it won't be going away anytime soon :)
A BIG thank you to all of my readers (even if sometimes it's just my mom). You guys are thee best ♥
Now let's talk closets for a minute. How many of you organize your closet in a precise manner? Not me! I know lots of people keep things organized by color or style. I'll admit I used to do this. When I moved way back in June I kinda just threw everything into my closet and that's how it has stayed. It's working out for me impeccably. Mostly because sometimes my closet will magically take all the thinking out of outfit planning for me! The top and cardigan that I'm wearing in the pics just happened to be hanging side by side in my closet. I noticed this and thought "hey those might look cute together!" Sure enough they do and I'm pretty positive I would have never thought to put a cardigan over that top on my own.
