I used to think being a teenager was a bit like a rollercoaster filled with extreme highs and inevitable lows. Kind of how relationships are too. But adolescence and love life have got nothin’ on business ownership. You guys, the highs are invigorating and give you the energy to push yourself and your biz to the next level while the lows are gut-wrenching and beyond confusing. It’s by far the strangest journey I’ve ventured on in my twenty-some years. But here’s the thing, it’s totally okay to have those continuous ups and downs. In business and in life! There is beauty in the lows. They are a time to reflect and to fine-tune our craft. And when you’ve completed that it’s all about figuring out how to get back on the right path. Celebrate the little milestones. Celebrate an email from a possible customer. Celebrate a new shipment. Celebrate a collaboration opportunity. The more we celebrate, the more opportunities there are for celebration and success! Remember what lights you up. For me, that’s memories of the startup process. Although it was long and a bit grueling I remember how excited I was every time I saw progress. I try to remember the feeling of holding my business cards for the first time, or seeing the first glimpses of product photos. That's what keeps me going.

So if you're new to this whole entrepreneurship thing, remember that it's okay to start small. It's okay to have low points. And it's absolutely okay to celebrate something as little as a new social media like!
