This year I’ve been studying fashion more intently than usual. I think it might be because of the drastic climate change that came with my move…”like what do people wear in February when it’s 83 degrees?” Lots of google searches, browsing Pinterest, and exhausting the archives of my favorite blogger’s sites (Fun fact: that’s something I rarely do. I try to avoid reading other style blogs as much as possible to avoid the comparison game). Anyway, all of my research lately reminded me of when I was a kid and had a subscription to Teen Vogue that I read front to back religiously. I have a distinct memory of browsing it and obsessing over the Olsen Twins on the playground in my backyard. You guys, what kid brings a magazine to the park? Apparently this girl. Around that same time was when I was adamant about knowing all of my mom’s clothing, “Is that new? I like it. Where did you get it?” constantly. I began putting care into curating my outfits for school the next day (although you might not believe me if you saw the head to toe purple ensemble I rocked in the fifth grade). Nevertheless, as far back as my memory takes me, fashion, a love for articles, and excitement for English class are all there. Sometimes I wish I would have followed these clues sooner, but I’m happy they’re a part of my childhood and inevitably lead me here, to style blogging.
